Prayer Concerns for the Week of February 19, 2012

Individuals struggling with illnesses and other concerns:

Family & friends of Sandy Word, who passed away from cancer this week.

Andrea Davis, cousin of Tracy Smith and DeLana Ott, who finished her

first round of chemo for aggressive breast cancer, but had her lung punctured during the procedure.

Pat Milligan, who will undergo a double bypass this week.

Delton Watkins, Jim Wilkinson’s uncle, who is hospitalized with dehydration.

Ruth Byrd, Pat Mitchell’s elderly mother, who has ongoing medical issues, but is not doing well.

Jack Cooley, Jay Cooley’s father, who has pneumonia and is in ICU. Wanda Evans, Wendy Runnels’ mother, who is has vasculitis, but is home recouperating.

Hazel Dye, Bo Dye’s mother, who has ongoing medical issues.

Betsy Randall, Shannon Anderson’s step-mother, who is undergoing chemo for small cell carcinoma in the lung and spine.

Sam McCreary, 16, nephew of Jay Estes, who was diagnosed with a spinal defect.

Nancy Mathews, Jo Doherty’s niece, who had a double lung transplant 3 years ago and is now experiencing infections again.

Gloria “Peanut” Moak, mother of Shelly Hollimon, who has an aneurysm in her brain and a hole in her heart.

Prayer Concerns for the Week of February 12, 2012

Ruth Byrd, Pat Mitchell’s elderly mother, who has ongoing medical issues, but is not doing well.

Jack Cooley, Jay Cooley’s father, who has pneumonia and is in ICU.

Sandy Word, who continues to battle cancer but is not responding to chemo any longer.

Wanda Evans, Wendy Runnels’ mother, who is has vasculitis, but is home recouperating.

Hazel Dye, Bo Dye’s mother, who has ongoing medical issues.

Betsy Randall, Shannon Anderson’s step-mother, who is undergoing chemo for small cell carcinoma in the lung and spine.

RT Green, young man who was driving the truck when his four friends were killed in an accident, and who is home recovering.

Carolyn Herrington, founder (along with her husband) of BMDMI (Baptist Medical Dental Missions International), is in ICU suffering from Addison’s Crisis.

Andrea Davis, cousin of Tracy Smith and DeLana Ott, who has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer, has had a mastectomy and is going back into surgery to remove more lymph nodes for testing.

Chase Lyman, 4-month-old son of a friend of Tracy Smith’s, who has been diagnosed with meningitis. After more than a week in the hospital, he is home and doing well. PRAISE!

Virginia Scorsone, Lisa Cooley’s mom, who underwent a double bypass procedure recently.

PASTOR APPOINTMENT REVIEW TIME in the United Methodist Church, the pastor is appointed to a church on a year-to-year basis. So, once again, it is time for the Staff-Parish Relations Committee to begin its review and recommendation process. The SPRC welcomes input from the congregation at this time. CASSEROLE MINISTRY   Do you like to cook?  Asbury has a Casserole Ministry that needs folks who will cook and freeze casseroles.  Can’t cook, but like to drive?  The Ministry also needs drivers who will  deliver casseroles.  Hear more about the Casserole Ministry at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 1, in the  Fellowship Hall

Announcement for the week of January 29, 2012

New Audio System Available to Aid Hearing Impaired Members - Asbury has a new wireless Hearing Impaired System available for use by members. Four units are available for individual use. Each wireless unit has headphones to listen to the service directly through the sound system, cutting out ambient noise and distortion. Come to the sound booth to borrow a unit on Sundays.

Assisted Living Goody Bags—Students will be making goody bags for the residents of Bedford Care assisted living home in Petal. We will take the bags to them on Sunday, February 5th, right after church. We will eat lunch and have a time of worship. We need items for 35 bags. Bring your donations to the Youth Building. Here are some suggestions: thick socks, hot chocolate, sugar-free candies, crossword puzzle books, pencils, combs/hairbrushes.
