Prayer Concerns for the Week of April 22, 2012

Individuals struggling with illnesses and other concerns:

Family & friends of BeeBee Bunce, Michele Williams’ aunt, who passed away this week.

Nettie Faye Dye, a friend of Tracey Smith’s mom, who has been diagnosed with an advanced form of leukemia.

Bridget Smith, wife of PMS Coach George Smith, who has been diagnosed with cancer.

The Frye family, neighbors of David & Susan Bounds. Mr. Frye suffers from COPD and is not doing well.

Candace Crew, friend of Susan Bounds, who has been diagnosed with a rare auto-immune blood disorder—antiphospholipid antibody syndrome—plus a more common blood disorder—Factor 5.

Danielle Slade, who had emergency back surgery this week and who is undergoing chemotherapy treatments for an undetermined disease and auto-inflammatory illnesses.

Stone Slade, son of Danielle & Jeremy, who is having some seizure medication issues.

Tom Dewey, Judy Crowder’s stepdad, who is recovering from mitral valve replacement and double by-pass surgery.

Crystal Stewart, friend of David & Susan Bounds, who contracted hantavirus. She’s recovering well. PRAISE!

McKenna Hawkins, 3-year-old daughter of PHS Coach Hawkins, who has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Taylor Campbell, cousin to Jim Wilkinson, who gave birth to a 1-pound premature baby recently.

Warren Elsner, husband of Elaine Elsner, who has medical issues.

Burkett Ross, local businessman and friend of the Cooley family, who had quadruple by-pass surgery.

Announcements for the week of April 8, 2012

Our new service is here!  Starting this Sunday, April 15, we will offer an “early” service at 8:20 am in the Youth Building, small groups will continue at 9:20 am and “late”  service will remain at 10:40 am in the Sanctuary. Come worship with us!

Several new small group connections will be starting soon. Contact the church office or Brenda Wilkerson for more info!

Start Thinking V.B.S.!!!. Sign ups will begin after Easter. We need everyone’s help to make VBS great! Please pray for VBS—for our planning team, volunteers and, of course, the children!

LET’S GO CAMPING! Asbury Camp Week for rising 4th – 6th graders will be June 4th – 8th! You can get camping registration forms and more information in the church office. If your child is of a different grade or can’t attend that week, other camps and times are available!

If you would like more info about our upcoming trip to Israel schedule for Christmas 2012, contact the church office.

Tom Dewey, Judy Crowder’s stepdad, who is recovering from mitral valve replacement and double by-pass surgery.

Announcements for the week of April 1, 2012

On Easter Sunday, we will have two worship services, 9:00 a.m. and 10:40 a.m.  There will be no Small Group Connections that morning.  Make plans to worship the risen Lord with us this Easter Sunday!

But, before we can understand the miracle of Easter, we first must reflect upon the pain and agony of the cross. Maundy Thursday Service is a time where we remember Jesus’ gift of Holy Communion and also his betrayal on the night before he was crucified. It is one of the more beautiful and powerful services that Asbury has each year. Make plans to attend this special worship service at 6:oo pm. Childcare will be available for children ages 4 and under

McKenna Hawkins, 3-year-old daughter of PHS Coach Hawkins, who has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Taylor Campbell, cousin to Jim Wilkinson, who gave birth to a 1-pound premature baby recently.

Warren Elsner, husband of Elaine Elsner, who has medical issues.

The family of Hazel Dye, Bo Dye’s mother, who passed away this week.

Sam McCreary, 16, nephew of Jay Estes, who was diagnosed with a spinal defect.

Nancy Mathews, Jo Doherty’s niece, who had a double lung transplant 3 years ago and is now experiencing infections again.

Gloria “Peanut” Moak, mother of Shelly Hollimon, who has an aneurysm in her brain and a hole in her heart.

On Palm Sunday, April 1, we will have our annual Easter Egg hunt and family meal. Make plans to stay after worship for this time of food and fellowship!

For lunch, the meat, rolls and drinks will be provided.  Please bring a salad, side dish, or desert based upon your last name (see below).  Please prepare enough for 15 people at least!
